How can we handle issues of social responsibility as it applies to the younger people, in a stimulating way, adapted to their age group?
The present training portfolio addresses our children of ages 10 to 12 years; and it stresses:
Acquainting them with the duality of rights and duties, and the importance of striking a balance between them.
It helps them compare between societies in connection with fulfilling duties and attaining rights.
It elaborates on the impact of the individual on society, the outcome of a narrow, individual, view; when little attention is given to a view that includes the whole society.
The adolescent is introduced to his/her own rights, the others’ rights, and God Almighty’s rights: and that through real-life examples, drawn from their own life.
This Portfolio (Course) develops a sense of social responsibility, and stresses the proactive contribution of each individual: and this will be applied to the student’s life in a way that touches directly on their own life.
It also emphasizes some important traits and personal habits, like ‘commitment’, ‘responsibility and accountability’, ‘determining priorities’; and getting rid of counter-productive habits, like ‘procrastination’ and ‘submitting to one’s desires’.
The Portfolio is concluded with a practical interactive initiative, aiming to translate the cognitive experience the child has acquired into contribution to his/her milieu and real life.
